I have been using expanding stainless wedge bolts on some of my past outdoor projects, has anyone used the Powers wedge bolt that is threaded similar to tapcon, stainless and installs with its own bit. I am looking at the 410 Stainless Steel Wedge Bolt.
A 5/8 Bolt 6″ long (embedded 4″ in concrete 2000psi ) has a shear strength of 12,580(56.6) and tension strength of 8,240 (37.1).
I am not an engineer but I think this is comparable to hammer in wedge style anchors.
They seem easier to install, and from a price point are cheaper off the shelf.
Does anyone have experience with these products?

We use them all the time.
You are right easier to install and cheaper!
The last 2 jobs the engineer called for either epoxy or cast in place and neither one had any problems with the substitution
PS. Don't think you need to use their "special bit" any 5/8" bit works and are a lot cheaper.
NAIL IT !!!

Have a link?
A buddy has a steel building that calls out some super exact placement of anchors.
I've been telling him drill and epoxy, but the price for a zillion bolts is stopping that idea.

I got some delivered today from speed fasteners in toronto, (great store http://www.speedfastening.com) and will be using them this weekend. They are also delivering some quikdrive deck scews this weekend as IHL takes a week or more to get fasteners shipped to them.
Great fasteners. I think that the special blue bit is undersized to pilot for a specific size wedge bolt. The published specs for tension are based on that hole diameter. You might want to check that with Powers. If a standard 5/8 bit would work, I agree that you would realize some savings.
