Is that a system from Superior Walls? Looks like their panels. I did a spec house years ago that I used them on- same thing- 1 day & all the walls were in for a 2100 sf basement. Very neat to watch.
Yes, it is by Superior.Gene Davis, Davis Housewrights, Inc., Lake Placid, NY
Hey Gene,
Have you seen Superior wall's newer super insulated wall system? We used one last year near Cortland, N.Y. Basement was around 3500 sq.ft with 9' walls. The insulation is thicker than the std. system and even the interior wall studs are wrapped with foam bd. The studs and foam are then capped with a steel stud plate laid flat for drywall nailer.
The only thing about the system I did'nt like is how carfull your excavator has to be backfilling. The 1st floor diaphram is what gives the system most of it's lateral strength, so you have to really pay attention to fastener schedules, etc. It's a nice warm basement though.

The energy audit we did as part of the permit application, requires that we insulate the basement walls to R18, so given that, the Superior Walls R11 package did not make economic sense.
We've an unfinished basement here, and will just staple in R13 faced glass.
What you see here is the R5 system. We're not done yet. After we cap the deep part with the main floor structure, there will be another 275 feet of 4' and 4'-8" wall added. There is a large terrace and porch complex on the left side, and a garage on the right.Gene Davis, Davis Housewrights, Inc., Lake Placid, NY
Gene,
Nice looking system. What would be the price tag on that type of foundation?
If you were going to do large amounts of brick or stone what do they use for a ledge?
Do they also do walk-out basements?

Because this foundation had so much of it requiring stone ledge, this one was price-competitive with what was bid in formed-and-poured, and also in ICF block.
You can see the stone ledge on the walls. It is integrally cast with the panel.Gene Davis, Davis Housewrights, Inc., Lake Placid, NY
