Hello, I have a question about pressure treated wood. My uncle is building a smokehouse and is using pressure treated wood for his posts. Is this dangerous ? He already dug and installed the posts they are 11ft tall. If there is a potential danger then i would like to stop him before he goes much further. Thanks

It may depend on which type he used, but I wouldn't use any of it. He would definitely not want to use CCA treated lumber.
I'd use cedar.
Since it's already up have him alter the plans so the posts are at least on the outside of interior wals.
One of those iffy situations that could be nasty.
Just the thought of it could ruin the sandwich whether it is toxic or not.

newer
acq stuff - I'm not sure.
With the older CCA, heat released the arsenic
I would paint them with a couple oats of paint to seal the treatment in and prevent it escaping as a gas of any kind and to prevent accidentally rubbing meat against it.
