I just installed a PF 8H6-84PC 8″ high arc kitchen faucet and I am unhappy already. One, a big chug of water follows everytime I turn off the water. Enough to fill a 6 oz glass. Both hot and cold do this. Two, the faucet leaks water where the arc leaves the base. The arc is designed to swivel but it’s too loose and it appears there isn’t anything I can tighten to remedy this. Three, the aerator shoots a very narrow stream of water at racehorse velocity.
I don’t know what can be done about One; did I miss something in regards to Two?; the aerator is assembled correctly and free and clear of any debris.

Rich,
I have used a couple of PF fixtures in rental property some years back. They are cheaper in price. You probably noticed that too. You got what you paid for. Now buy the right one and replace it. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. DanT
*Go ahead and take it back, unless you want to play detective. O-ring seal at base of faucet could have been damaged during assembly and aerator mesh screen could be missing, giving that solid stream.Chugging?? Not a clue.
*i "It's a Black & Decker Company" but they are pretty good about customer service. In California they are at 818-896-1114, they probably have an 800 number too. Call & complain. My experience has been instant shipment of damaged/defective parts. Or take it back. Joe H
*Yeah, Ralph, as in the water is on, I turn it off and after I turn the handle to the off position this...this...chug of water comes roaring out the faucet. It's a new definition to be sure, but it sounds like an apt word.
*I've used a few with no problems but mt plumbers don't like them. These guys don't like callbacks and I assume that's the reason for the prejudice agains them.
*I spent some time today checking with several plumbers to solicit their comments on PF. Every one said they like PF faucets. They all seem to think I got a bad unit. Since I hate playing plumber I returned the PF and found a nice Delta--please don't tell me that's an oxymoron--at a plumbing warehouse.
*Years ago, when I worked at the hardware store in Highschool, Price was our top of the line faucet, alot of plumbers and rich folks bought them, but then that was about 12 yrs ago, things have probably changed though.
*Paddle, yeah, that's why I bought it in the first place was because I remember PF as being topnotch. But the more I think about this the more I'm thinking this is gonna' turn into a "I hate Black & Decker because...". Lately, it seems that everything they touch turns to crap. My Dad has a circ saw from B&D dating from the early 60s. He still uses it and it works just fine. An old boss has a 3/8" drill he got from his father. It dates from the 50s, looks like s*** but still runs fine. Can't say that about anything they produce these days. I know those are handtools and this thread is about a faucet, but the B&D touch is the basis of my rant. But wudda I know, I could be wrong.
*I've noticed the "chug" of water in other high arch designs too. The vertical section above the valves is full of water all the time. If the valves are closed suddenly, the downward facing section of the arch acts like a siphon and pulls water from the section between the valves and the apex of the arch. You can minimize this by closing the valves a little slower.
