Hi Everyone-
I have decided to start printing my company’s checks in QB Pro and I’m unable to figure out how to print blank checks with my banking information and as shown on the “write checks” screen of QB Pro.
Do I need extra software from Versacheck or am I just missing how to set it up in QB Pro.
Thanks in advance for everyone’s comments.
Dale

we bought our pre printed with info checks from nebs put them in the printer when paying checks.
I thought you had to buy the blank checks from a check supplier or even Intuit.
If you could print the bank routing number and your account numbers on the check it means that somebody else could as well, with YOUR account number. And the account numbers are printed with a magnetic ink for the check processing facility automation.
I think when they talk about printing check right from your computer it means the info you would normally write by hand only.

It does read like you could stick a sheet of paper in and print but that just is not real secure.
Everyone-
Thanks for your comments. I was on the JLC site and learned that I could purchase a thousand pre-printed checks from Costco for $51, so that is what I am going to do.
Thanks again for everyone's comments,

They can and do.
There is a big problem with people printing up fake checks. It even gets in to the cashiers checks.
I don't doubt that it is being done, (People printing fraudulent checks and money orders) but Intuit sure isn't going to provide the means to do it. The frauds at least have to work at it with Word or Publisher right?
Yes, a publishing or graphic type of program is probably wwhat is used to make the fake ones.
However, there are thrird parties software that will work with Quicken and probably QBooks and others. The intercept the printer commands and add what is need to print the check on blank stock.
But I don't think that it is worth is for the individual user by the time that you get software and the paper and the toner.
But accountants and attorneys that do a lot of trust work that have to print checks on many different accounts like it.
It is possible to print the entire check from just blank check paper, but not in QB Pro. Call Intuit, and ask about Master Builder 2003. I use it. Longer learning curve than QB but what a fantastic setup. I'm using around 75 percent of the program.
