Problem with Paslode Cordless Nailers
Hi, I have a Paslode Cordless Framer that always worked great. It’s been sitting for a couple of years- now it fires intermittently.
After a lot of testing and experimentation, I verified the following:
• Gas is full and new, and is reaching the cylinder.
• Spark is reliable.
• Fan runs
Now It fires very seldom, usually only once after reassembly.
I figure maybe the top O-ring is bad, allowing the gas to dissipate so much as to not be flammable?
Just seeking your opinion, I figure it’s time to replace the rings anyway.
Thanks, just checking before I order.

I recently pulled out a 16ga paslode cordless nailer that had been sitting for a while with the same symptoms. The gas sprayed and stunk as usual but as it turns out it needed fresh fuel.

Looks like that's the consensus. Bought new fuel- will test and report.
New fuel fixed it. Even though the old canister was full, and it definitely was flammable (tested in an open flame), it was dated 2009. With new fuel, works like a champ.
paslode cordless not firing
A couple yrs ago I started having trouble with my paslode cordless framer. It had all the symtoms you described. I had it in the shop several times and it would work intermittantly. What I finally found was that the contacts on the battery were dirty. Use a 3m pad to clean them. If you wear canvas work pants, like Dickies, just take the battery out, if contacts are black, rub the battery contacts on your pant leg a few strokes each and the black should be gone. Back to work!
a pencil erasure or a qtip with rubbin g alcohol willl do the same contact cleaning
