Hi, I’m new to this forum. This is my first posting.
Has anyone had any recent positive or negative experiences with Lumber Liquidators?
I am currently having a bad experience and need to know if I am over reacting. I placed an order and it was confirmed, then it was canceled by them. I went back to the website and checked the item for possible reordering and found that the price had doubled. I have contacted them about my canceled order but I have not received an answer yet.
Is this the kind of service that I can expect from them all the time? Is this a one time thing?
Thanks for any input.

Welcome to Breaktime.
There have been a lot of posts about Lumber Liquidators - Some good, some bad. I'm thinking most were mediocre to bad.
In the left column of your screen all the way at the top you'll find "Advanced search". That might bring up some of the old threads so you could get an idea how people here feel about the company.
Thanks for the info.
as I understand from friends that have used LL and reading here is that you'll get satisfactory service if you go there to purchase and ready to haul the same day. (Kind of like a what you see is what you get.)
Their business appears to be only over stocks, rejects, and end of runs so it's hard for me to figure how they know what their inventory will be especailly when they offer a process to make orders.
"Their business appears to be only over stocks, rejects, and end of runs"I think that was their start. But they have too many "standard" products that I don't think that is their main buisness any more. In fact I got a catalog, less prices, from them yesterday. And they have 100 stores.I wonder if they are franchised or something like that. From the hiway I have noticed a store in Kansas City, KS. And their catalog and website shows it.But on the radio I hear ads for a store in Olathe, KS. And googling showed it..
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
definitely a franchise thing, I think they have a store on the north side of Atlanta. Maybe their regular stock is determined by how often it shows up on the clearance aisles at distributors?
Agreement with John7g. I bought from them several times, and even their store manager told me that it was by far the best course to buy from what they had in stock in the store. He said they would eventually fill a special order, but he could not promise/guarantee when....

I think the service can depend a lot on which store you go through.
I have had nothng but good experiences with the store in Fort Worth. Very helpful and orders showed up on time.
I've made two purchases from them over the past five years and had good results. The first was 1800 bd. feet of maple and the second was 400 bd. feet of walnut. Both utility grade and both for 99 cents per foot. Two of the best buys I've made.
would you mind telling me more about their "utility" grade? I need to put a floor in my shop but couldn't get an idea of how "irregular" utility grade is.
Thanks in advance.
The utility grade maple contained the usual random lengths, but occasionally tongues could be missing, some of the boards could be a little narrower than usual, and there were occasional knots and other defects. I ordered one third more than I needed, and ended up with plenty of extras.
The walnut utilility grade ended up being all shorts, and about one fifth of it was sap wood (nearly white). About one-third of it was unusable for my purposes, but still a good deal.
