Problems with Porter C. FR350 Nail Gun
Hi all ,I’m new here. Just over from Knots on the FWW site.
My problem is my PC FR350 nail gun, its been jambing way too much. I’ve taken the feed off to clean it up but can’t find anything obviously wrong. I’ve shot about 4 or 5 boxes of 3″ & 2 3/8″ nails through it. Is there something in there that wears out with that much use? Sometimes it shoots doubles, then none. If I slam the feed lever forward sometimes I can coax it to fire another nail. Also, the hammer seems to be hitting really hard, sometimes too hard.
I’m probably going to look once more then take it to a shop. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks, Hugh Thomas

One frequent comment is that when it is set up for bump fire, rather than sequential, it does tend to double fire, especially if you try to hold the nose in contact with the wood rather than letting it rebound. Do you have the red or black trigger installed? PC will send you a red sequential trigger at no cost if you call their office...look for the number in the owners manual. Installing it takes less than a minute. I installed the red trigger right from the start, and it has never double fired or jambed.
Do it right, or do it twice.
I took the gun apart today and gave it a much needed cleaning. The gun is in great shape and looked to be clean but... the magazine was a mess. It was full of plastic & crap. Anyhow a good clean up & lube then an adjustment to the depth of nail set and it seems to be working just fine.
I'm going to try it with some PC nails and hope its back & ready to go. I've got a nice project beginning Monday.
Thanks, H.T.
