Hello everyone,
I met with a customer yesterday who has a screened in cedar porch. The cedar has seen better days and they want to replace it with something maintenance free that the carpenter bees wont like. I shot them Miratec as an alternative but they didnt want to paint it which rules out a lot of choices. She has seen Trex decking and wants to use that to skin the structure. Essentially you would have the enclosure framed out of treated lumber and then covered in something. Any thoughts about using Trex in this way? Can you recomend a better alternative that doesnt need paint?
Thanks,
Justin Tischer

Trex or one of the clones sells a product meant to be used as an overlay for pine deck boards. I think it 1/4"x5-1/2", nails right over a 2x6.

Not too sure, but I've heard that vinyl siding doesn't need paint
