Propane appliance vent… or not
Someone please clue me in.
Here in our house we have a propane water heater with a standard B-vent. Not far away we have a propane cookstove with no vents at all. Turn on the oven and a couple of the burners and you’re definitely using more gas than a water heater, and the exhaust is right into the room.
Neighbors have a nice propane heating stove. They went to a lot of trouble to get the vent through the roof that also brings on combustion air. At the dentist’s office they have a small propane heating stove right next to the waiting room couch that has no vent.
So, is breathing propane exhaust a problem or not? I honestly can’t say why one appliance requires a vent and another does not.
