I need a couple of LP quick-release fittings for a portable i/r heater. They’re like the air fittings, but rated for gas.
Where should I be able to find them? Local (backwoods) propane dealer didn’t know what I was talking about….but I’ve seen them used in a comm. kitchen. Would like to find locally if someone can tell what kind of store to be looking in, otherwise an on-line source would be appreciated.

Any restaurant supply house has 'em, or try http://www.natequipment.com.
Dormont Manufacturing claims to have invented them. They are called "push-to-connect quick disconnect couplings", are not particularly cheap, and are probably not allowed for what you want to use them for. That said, they should work just fine.
I saw some at Sims' Welding Supply in Culver City. So try welding supply shops....

I've gotten some at an RV dealer. They had stuff in stock the welding supply shops said they'd have to order.
I got some at a farm supply store.
