Hello,
I have serious hard water problems (something like 1700 where 100 is normal limit). The water tastes bad (to us) but it is test out good otherwise.
I’ve put magnets on he water supply and this has helped out greatly, but I’m still not happy with it.
So here’s my proposed solution:
Pump water from another well (previous residence, now being used as guest house) to new house about 5-600 feet away and 15-20 increase in elevation. So here are the questions:
What kind of booster pump would I use to get water from previous residence to new house?
Can I pump directly from previous residence well to new house and still keep the water supplied to the previous residence?
Would I need any extra holding tanks to make this work?
Any advice would be hlepful.
Thanks,
Mr. SQL

I'm curious why 2 wells so close would have such different water. Do you know the depth of them? Do you have the drillers report on the depths the water is coming from? Do you know their flow rates? (yield)
Also what kind of pumps are on them? Surface pumps? downhole pumps? Do you know the rating on the pumps (HP & GPM).
It might be possible for a driller to cement off and deepen the well with the bad water. Or, cement off the bottom and perforate higher up.
Have you considered installing a water softener? That might depend on what kind of minerals you have.
Some states have a water well data base on the internet. (OKLA for one)
