Does anyone know if there’s a specific type of putty to use for nail heads for vinyl trim boards? I’m hoping to find something that blends in and hides the nail head nicely. I’ve been using Dap and white Phenoseal but I’m hoping someone might be able to recommend something better.
Thanks

Mike,
I assume you are talking about Azek or similar? I am using a two-part filler that dries to the color of azek. My supplier lists it as Azek trimbonder. It comes in a caulk tube and gets mixed in one of the spiral nozzles attached to the tube.
The stuff is expensive (about $28 per tube) but it seems to bond well and you really have to look to see the patches.
Hope this helps.
Yes, you got it, I'm talking about trim such as Azek. There is also a brand called "Kleer" that some lumber yards carry. But mostly I use the stuff that Depot carries since I'm there most of the time.
Anyway, is this "trimbonder" re-usable? And, most importantly, does it clean up well? Just curious. The price is a little high, but if it's re-usable to some degree then maybe a tube will go a long way? Yes, no?
I'll check it out, thanks for the reply!
Mike,
I ordered some of the extra spiral nozzles with the stuff. They were only about $ .70 each. That way you can use the tube more than once.
I haven't used much of it, but I think one 10 oz. tube is going to go a long way.
As far as cleanup, I'm not really sure. So far I have just been filling trim head screw holes, letting it set up and then using a razor to slice off the excess flush.
Don't really know yet what will happen if I need to wipe a bunch of it off.
