I am wrapping my windows with 1×4 PVC trim and would like to do the same with my entry doors. Is PVC Trim stable enough to remove the wood brickmold on the doors and replace it with the PVC Trim? Can I attach a aluminum screen door to the PVC Trim? I would make the trim 1&1/4 thick just like the wood brickmold. I have not work with PVC Trim in this type of application.
Thanks for your help.

I have firmly attached storm doors to pvc flat stock and their brickmold.
I would securely fasten the trims and weld the corners together (pvc glue).
Unless there's some pvc trim's available I'm not familiar with, you'll need to join or buildup their 3/4" with 1/2". Buildup with rips along the edges I would "weld" and pin also b/4 fitting and assembly.
PVC product available to me is full 3/4 and full 1". Sheet goods are 1/2". Azek and Koma.
Had some 5/4 delivered today. No 5/4 available for you?
5/4, 1" actual, yes
and I see now with a search that Azek has a frontier and an ATM that offers 6/4 or full 1-1/4". But to my knowledge, even the local distributor to the yards here doesn't have any stock.
I'll have to ask as it would come in handy.
Probably have to get a bank loan and lock the trim in a vault overnite.................
hard to handle

LOL
get it full length 18' with the sharp edges, too wiggly to move alone and too slippery & heavy to grab an arm load, too worried about slicing your hands open.
Certainly not cheap though. Once and done though is a good feeling.
I couldn't find any 8" wide at 5/4 though.
