quality of gas fireplaces

The great room is gonna need a gas fireplace.

  I’m smart enough to want quality over price but not smart enough to find a consumers report on gas fireplaces.

  Can I get some help here?

    Frenchy,

    I tried to find the same info just this past summer--no luck.

    I am in the process of installing a Fireplace Extrodinare gas unit, but wont have it all hooked up for another 2 weekends or so. I can let you know how it works then.
