Hello. I was hoping someone could help me out with a question I have regarding roof truss bearing points. I purchased a home 10 months ago, and I am finally getting around to doing some work on the detached garage. I was looking at the eaves which were left unfinished and noticed the queen post trusses are all overhanging the top plates by 1″ – 1 1/8″ on both sides of the structure. I thought this was odd, and in doing some research online I cannot find any reason why the edge of the top plate wouldn’t align exactly at the outermost point where the top and bottom chord meet.
Can anyone tell me if this is structurally unsound or against any building codes? And if so, is there a way to reinforce this? Thank you.

I think you are ok.
most rafter tables have notes that require an inch and a half bearing on the walls, for example.
if you want to add to the structure, consider some connector clips to hold the rafters to the wall, in addition to the toe-nails shown in your photo.
