Quick opinions needed – Dewalt Compr.
HD 2-3/4 Max HP 4 Gallon Single Tank Electric Compressor – D55155
Can owners of this compressor share their opinion with me. There’s a commercial place here clearing them out.
There was a lot of talk when they first came out and quite a few members went out and bought, but I haven’t heard how they turned out? Quick replies would be appreciated
Thanks

I cannot comment on the quality, plus or minuses but I will pass you an observation.
Several months ago, HD was having their twice a year 10 - 40% sale. In the tools section there were about 7 - 8 re-built / re-furbished 4 gallon DW compressors for sale for about $270 (I think).
I was kind of surprised to see that many at one time. I don't know if these were 'HD loaners', where people 'buy them' and then 'return them' when their job is completed or if they were truly defective and repaired.
YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)
Hard to say I guess...could have come from the rental section, a special deal on refurbs.....doesn't sound good though....
The place I'm looking at isn't open weekends, so I have a while to sit back and see if anyone has anything to say.
Thanks for the input!
I have no experience with that compressor, but a guy that I have worked with has one, and he seemed to like it. Said he was able to run two framing guns off of it no problem.
Check toolcribs web site at amazon.com and see if there are any reviews on it there. May be able to find a better price online also.
Good luck,

I believe all of the DeWalt line compressors are made by Emglo. Thats a good thing. I had one of those little comps and it worked well for me and one other guy to frame with. When I hired extra framers, I got a bigger comp. The little DeWalt worked fine for me, though. I wish I still had it, because it would be fine for doing the little extra cab installs with crown and base application that has to be done.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm up in Canada so looking online isn't quite as easy - actually it is, but getting items delivered for a good price isn't! It works when I travel down to the US for over a week and can bring back stuff back home duty free (as long as it fits in luggage and isn't a dangerous looking device!!)
I've found what I know to be a great price, with just one left in inventory, so I think I'll swing by and pick it up.
Thanks again, it 's really nice to be able to get good feedback quickly.
