If you use Quickbooks and have been thinking about upgrading to the 2009 version, don’t do it. Yesterday, I got the upgrade which was supposed to fix several hassles with downloading bank info into QB – and couldn’t get it to work.
This morning, I registared with the QB website and started reading the postings in their Q&A area. If I had found this before I “upgraded”, I would have saved myself several hours of work. There are ~200 – 300 postings that date back to mid October and apparently Intuit has really screwed the pooch with this release.
I should be able to get back to QB 2007 without too much hassle, but some of the posts I read were from accountants and CPA’s that have seriously snarled up files for their customers.

We found the same thing in our office. Fortunately I wasn't personally involved but I was within earshot.
Intuit seems to have real issues. They've had some major screw-ups in the last couple of years. They had a Mac version upgrade a while back that ate data. I'm running Quicken 2005 and see no reason to upgrade.
Funny you mention this. Someone was on another forum letting it be known that you could get QB 2009 for FREE last Monday only at Staples. I'm still using 2003.
I had to upgrade to 2008 from 2003 because I take credit cards and Intuit decided to no longer support 2003 in that function. 2008 is much more user friendly than 2003 (I previously used 2000) for me and the upgrade was seamless. Sorry to hear about the 2009 fiasco.http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image
The company as a whole really doesn't get it. Just stupid stuff is wrong and it's been that way from day one. I think that if so many bean counters didn't use it they would have closed the doors years ago.
