The article on radiant panel heating in Fine Homebuilding is quite interesting. I see they used Quik Trak as PEX tube routing. The article didn’t specifically mention Quik Trak but I saw the name in pictures. My question is, what is a source for Quik Trak? I see that Quik Trak is a product of Wirsbo but their web site doesn’t mention much of it. How does Quik Trak compare price wise and application to Warmboard?

Wm,
Seeing you've received no response to your query, you may want to explore the old threads here on Breaktime.
If you scroll down in the lower left corner of your screen there is a search function that will take you to previous threads dealing with whatever you type in the search bar.
If you type in 'Quik Trak', 'Warmboard' or other keywords of the subject matter, you may happen onto the data you desire from those old threads.
Best to you.
Try looking up Stadler Veiga I belive there (climate panel) is the same thing

Wm,
I installed quite a bit of quick track, a few years back. 7000sf. on one job. I don't recall the actual costs, but it wasn't cheap. Although warmboard isn't here either. I think it is a good system for a retrofit, as it only adds 1/2" thickness. There are better ways, in new construction. I like to see a thermal mass, such as gypcrete, or light weight concrete. The quick trac system is limited in its output due to the 7" spacing of the tubing. Some rooms with large areas, and lots of glass, need some supplement, if you are in a heating climate. It does react to changes in temperature quite fast though.
Find a local contractor, who is familiar with it. The P&H contractor on our job, sold the quick track to the HO, and had never used it before. Fortunately, I had an uneasy feeling, after talking to the contractor, before they began installation. I ended up helping their man do the install, and also recalculated and adjusted their design. As they had it designed, it would have been very hard to balance.
Hope this helps!
