Saw another answer to this question but have additional issues. Am building on the sand dunes in western Mich on Lake Michigan. Put in Wirsbo tubing in the basement floor with different zones for living area and two garages.
The dilema is on the main floor. The constant intrusion of sand (wind blown, kids feet, dogs paws, etc etc.) prevents the use of carpet. The abrasiveness of sand will wear down almost any finish so I’m not sure what to use. (suggestions on floor finish also welcome).
One thought is designer concrete which says tubes, another thought is gypcrete with tile or linoleum on top. If I do that what happens to the gypcrete when the linoleum is worn and needs to come up.
The house is a panelized circular structure (Deltec) so doing the underside installation wont work because the joists come together in the middle of each circle.
Would appreciate any thoughts on the subject.
