Anyone have experience with this?
We’re considering it for a new home. Have been warned that, since the water temperature below the wood must be kept relatively cool, it takes a long time to bring the house up to temperature if there’s a sudden cooling of the outdoor air.
Anyone have any experience?

Not sure what you mean by "long time". My whole house is radiant and floor finishes include Oak floors, ceramic tile, carpet and laminate flooring. The house stays warm all winter 68-70 no matter what the outside temp is. It's not the up and down temps I used to get with baseboard heat. The water temp running under all the flooring types is 130 degrees.
Experience, yes. It works, design it well, be smart, have fun., warm feet.
3/4" strip flooring works fine, engineered/laminated ply flooring works even better.
