A while back someone asked about using radiata pine for trim. At that time I didn’t have any pics of these closets that I built. I thought I’d go ahead and post them since I have the digital cmaera borrowed.
The first is an overall pic of some closets I added in our kitchen. The second is a closeup of the finish and grain on one of the vertical pieces.
I really like the radiata pine. Sure beats anything else out there that’s comparable in price.
Not bad for a redneck, huh ???
My imaginary friend thinks you have serious mental problems

OOH THAT'S PRETTY!
Nice looking, obviously you're one redneck with good taste in wood.
What type of finish is that? And were did you get the wood?
Cork in Chicago.
The wood came from the local lumberyard. It's what they stock for "clear" lumber.
BTW - Why do they call it "clear" if you can't see through it ???
The stain is minwax brand, and the color is "cherry". The top coat is a semi-gloss poly. I think it's also by minwax, but don't recall fer sure.

There's a guy in Chicago with the nickname of "Corky" who's friends with the Totsch family. That wouldn't be you by chance, would it?The truth is, politics and morality are inseparable, and as morality's foundation is religion, religion and politics are necessarily related. We need religion as a guide. [Ronald Reagan]
