Hello,
My roof is a 1.5 story supported by a 9.5″x3.5″ LVL ridge beam. I suspect I know the answer, but here it goes: on an end rafter (one that meets flush with the gable wall) there is no space to connect a rafter hanger to the ridge beam. What do I do?
A) Bend the flange of the hanger 90 degrees to mount to the end of the ridge beam
B) Simply toenail the rafter to the beam
C) A mystery third option
This scenario has to be VERY common, but I’ve never seen this explicitly mentioned anywhere. I can provide a drawing if need be.

Simpson makes hangers specifically for this application.
I've always mitered the end rafters and nailed or screwed to the end of the beam. Cutting the beam shorter if the overhang is to much.
Yeah, that's a common issue with end rafters. You've got a few options. Some folks bend the flange of the hanger 90 degrees to mount it to the end of the ridge beam. Others just toenail the rafter to the beam. There might even be a mystery third option out there! It'd be helpful to see a drawing to give more specific advice, but those are the usual fixes. Just make sure whatever you do is safe and structurally sound.
