I’m thinking of using Multitherm woodowood fiberboard insulation on the outside of a new construction house wall.
I was reading a FHB article that said I should have a rain screen between the fiberboard and the wall assembly to alow airflow to prevent mold in a cold damp location and to use 11/2 inches batons, but I’m wondering if I can use Coravent rain screen? That is only 1 inch thick to help reduce the final thickness of the wall. I plan to have Pine BB siding plus another rain screen on the outside of this fiberboard layer so anywhere I can reduce the thickness of all these layers would be a plus.
Also I should mention this house is in the northern great lakes region so we do get some cold and damp but my house location microclimate would get really good air flow and is in a full sun location and it would only be in the spring and fall that there would be cold and damp weather. So my second question would be do I even need rain screen under the fiberboard?

Hi everyone,
I watched the :building strong deck stairs” video. I was wondering how can I install the first step, where the 2-4×4 columns? It looks pretty solid but, I have no idea how to do so.
Thanks
