Fireplace: I like how they look, but…too much work for the real thing and the gas ones too trendy/techy. Has anyone created a “fireplace” and stuck the tv inside? I would love what looks like a brick fireplace with black iron doors that fold back and the tv is inside. We had a black wood burning stove and I always thought it would be neat if they were designed for tv’s inside.Shower: One sheet of metal that hangs freely, bent to form each of three walls, with the walkin opening the fourth wall. Simple edge that clears the floor of the shower by a foot for easy cleaning of the floor. Copper would be pretty :-)Bath/Shower faucet handles: I have always wanted them to be on the outside wall-annoying to try to clean around the fixtures all the time. Plumbers, can this be done?Bathroom sink-why does everyone want those tiny bowls? Give me a deep farmer’s sink in the bathroom and preferably a gooseneck faucet :-)Chiminea: with candle rack inside, in front of the bathtub.Laundry: Ladies, if you’ve never tried it, those Rubbermaid garbage cans on wheels are perfect dirty laundry bins if you have an out of view place for them. Now if Rubbermaid would just make them in pastels 🙂

Wanna rethink that one a bit?

Does your wife clean the bathroom and do the laundry? Ask them. :-) Shower head hangs over bathtub faucet which hangs over plug apparatus which hangs over drain, and the faucet handles are close set to the faucet. It's a scrubbing nightmare and it's just tradition that keeps it that way. Open minds...creative solutions.

What I'd rather have is a waterproof remote control with temp and pressure controls that would stick to the shower enclosure wherever I put it, such as with really good suction cups. I have something similar for a ceiling fan and it's really convenient to be able to put the controls wherever they are most convenient and then be able to move them.

The shower in my master bath is about 7' square. I plumbed two shower valves/heads, one to a standard-height (for my 5'1" wifey) wall mounted shower head. That fixture also has a hand-held feature. The other provides water to either another higher than standard wall mounted shower head (higher for my 6'4") or an overhead "rainshower" type of spigot. Muy bueno.

The on/off/temp selector valves are plumbed on the entry wall as you walk into the shower. "Select-a-Temp" types, so the temp stays as set.

You can turn on the shower and let them come up to temp without getting "into" the shower. And the shower valves don't get coated with crud. Still, by the nature of the design, you don't have to get out of the shower to change the temp. You just reach to an adjacent wall.

However, my kids' bath has a standard shower/tub setup, and their fixtures never really get grimey. You may want to consider changing the bar soap you use. It does make a difference. I'd suspect the quality of your water is a factor as well.

Love the overhead rain shower. I dont like showers that pierce the skin-I want a shower that has a water flow like what comes out of the bathtub faucet, which I know is wasteful of water, but I suspect I would get cleaner faster and be out of the shower before a tub would have filled? Also, I wouldn't mind a faucet, like an outdoor faucet, with a short hose hooked up, inside. For filling a foot bath, for example. As for a remote control shower, if I could turn on the shower from the bed? Now, I wouldn't mind a waterproof phone in the shower. Let's move on to the kitchen? You know those refrigerators from the 50's that are so retro popular now? You could refurb the appearance of one and strip the mechanicals and have a fool the eye kitchen cabinet? Would look neat in a bar area. I believe any good junk yard has a bunch :-)
