RE-ROOFING OVER LAMINATED SHINGLES.

Are there any cautions or suggestions out there regarding roofing over an existing layer of “architectural” laminated shingles? Any feedback would be appreciated.

    My understanding is that you shouldn't do it, based on a conversation during the ASHI convention amonth ago with a roofing expert; I didn't hear the reason why.

    FWIW, even if it's allowed, it is a less than "best practice" IMHO.

        *I'm with the mountain guy. I don't re-roof anything. Re-roofing over laminates is going to look like hell. Do you know what is under those shingles?
