This is a question about reusing 2X6’s for joists, (12″ O.C., 9’6″ span) –
The house I bought has a roofed and screened porch that was built probably 25-30 years ago. The floor was not framed properly, having joists 36″ on center causing lots of bounce.
My question is about re-using the 2X6 flooring that is currently on it (picture attached). There are about 60 boards 2X6’s 14′ long. The 2X6’s are painted and in good shape except the very last 4″ (which extended past the screening) have some rot. So these are good 13.5 ft 2X6’s. I’d like to reuse them as floor joists putting 12″ O.C. with a 9’6″ span. (Got this from the 40PSF Live Load , 10 PSF dead load , 360 deflection, visually graded No.2 for Southern Pine span table).
I cannot determine if the wood was pressure treated or whatever they called it in the 80’s or 90’s. The joists will be topped with 2X6 T&G Pressure Treated lumber.

If your project is being inspected you might talk to the inspector before you use it (no grade stamp), but otherwise go for it. Nothing wrong with used lumber as long as it doesn't have any structural flaws.
Even if it is not inspected, you would be better off if you can find a grade marking. you might luck out when you pull them up and the bottom might not be painted, and have visible grade and species markings.
