I am considering a venture into the speculative residential market and was wondering if anyone here could suggest some good reading material on the subject.

My wife and I (both young architects) are discussing this venture with a good contractor friend of ours in the South Florida area. We are thinking spec houses and design/build services. The contractor has done it before and has a fairly solid network of subs, suppliers, etc. Our intial discussions indicate that we all have the same interests…just looking to do some quality work, make a decent living and escape our current corporate environment.

I want to do some solid research before taking any big steps (it is just an idea right now). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
