Reasons to Not Use an Old-Fashioned Kitchen Wall Exhaust?
I would like to forego a kitchen hood or downdraft exhaust and simply use an old-fashioned through wall exhaust to eliminate kitchen odors and heat. I’d like to locate it 30″ above and centered on our electric cooktop. However, I do not see any existing through-wall exhaust fans made specifically for this type of application, particularly any with a grease filter. Is anyone familiar with any? I understand there will be some air leakage, but given we have very old masonry/ plaster exterior walls and original windows we already have a ‘leaky’ envelope. I would appreciate thoughts and recommendations.

Here you go.
Thank you Unclemike42. Was there a specific product you were recommending via this link? None of the products pulled up via this search - or those that came up via many previous online and manufacturer website searches - meet the intent of what I am trying to do, which is why I am reaching out via this forum.

What is it that doesn’t have what you want?
Broan has through the wall fans and a grease filter to fit it.
