cedar valley? yes Ihave used them, remember each sheet has a right and left. They also make corners if you want to go that way. Good product in my opinion
We looked into the panelized shingles a while back and decided it was cheaper and more durable to stick with the red label shingles shot on with one inch crown galvanized staples. But we put them up raw and don't stain them at all, just use 36" roof overhangs to keep them dry. Pre-staining red label shingles would be a nightmare.
They are not cheap, however from a labor stand point it might be a wash, cover alot of sq.ft. fast. I just prestained a bunch of shakes with Kilz and then applied light yellow oil based stain. It was time consuming, however weather conditions in NorthernMi. required it this way. If you apply darker colors probably wouldn't have to prime first, tried a few without priming and the tannins bleed thru. Good thing it was only for a 13x9 custom golf cart garage so the numbers were not daunting, but for a whole house this time of year I would farm out the job.
