Anyone got any tricks? On a house I just finished, it looks like someone dropped chewing gum on the front porch – right in front of the front door. There is a dirty pink circle about the size of a quarter. The concrete is broom finish. Pressure wash didn’t get it off.
TIA

Ya gotta freeze it. Try dry ice for 3-5 minutes, then scrape it off.

Nope. Steam clean it, CO's in NYC make a bundle doing it by the SQFT.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

That's 'cause the HOs don't know about dry ice there

Thanks for the response.
OK - so where do I get dry ice?
Also, I'm thinking there is some kind of spray can stuff that gets really cold... I've heard about spraying ???? on a padlock lock and then smacking it with a hammer to shatter the frozen metal...
I'm looking for something commonly available...
Here you can get dry ice at the groceries. It is kinda hidden. At the store that I most often go to by the meat counter there is a hallway to the back and around the side is the chest freezer with the DI in it.What you are thinking about is called Circuit Cooler.Electronic supplies house have it. Radio Shack used to ahve it, don't know if they still do are not. But, I understand correctly, you just have some RESIDUE and with the broom finish you are going to get any place trying to freeze it and scrape it off.I would look at using one of the orange cleaners and see if that does not liquify it.Then work it with a stiff scrub brush. Then power washer it.And/or get power washing company that has a propane heater on their rig to go after it with hot water..

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.

Shoot a CO2 fire extinguisher at it. Or tie a thickly woven bag with a draw string opening off the spigot of a tank of CO2.
Don't know how effective the DI will be for you in this case, but around here I can get dry ice at an ambulance supply house - they will eye you with great suspicion until you produce a cooler and heavy gloves for transport and handling.
Call your local fire company and see where they get it.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
Freon does that, but you don't want to contribute to global warming for a piece of gum - find the DI!
As a former chief janitor, the first step is to scrape as much of the gum off as possible.
Then use a .50 cal. machine gun to finish the job. I don't know why these wonderful carpentry machines aren't more common. They can make holes for pipe and conduit, trim rafter tails, kill centipedes, and -- of course -- eliminate chewing gum. The only thing that befundles them is fruit cake.

Buy a can of canned air like you use to blow dust off your keyboard. It clearly says on the can not to use it upside down ... that's exactly waht you want to do, cuz it comes out as a super cold liquid. Wrap the can in a towel cuz it will frost up on you."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson
