Looking for the best practice on removing 10 years old vinyl windows. The vinyl tabs are coverd by siding, no trimwork around the window.
Current planned process, cut back siding, pull windows, replace with newer windows, install exterior trim.
Problem- don’t wan’t to replace all windows in house- will not have a match- orignal windows no trimwork- new windows with trimwork.
Any ideas?
Thanks, PPurdy

Removing the window aside, if you do not cut the siding back around the window you will not be able to properly flash the window.
A few Qs...
What kind of siding is it and, just out of curiosity, what is wrong with the existing windows - OH - and would you happen to know what brand of windows they are?
Standard construction grade fiberboard siding. Windows are damaged, frame cracks- not sure on the maker- basic track home stuff.
Cut the trimwork off the new windows.

I replaced 8 aluminum wondows in my old house. I discovered that the best, fastest easiest way to do it was to just suck it up, unside the area around the windows, pull them out, install new and reside.
If you want details? Let me know. Depending on the siding, it's not all that bad.
Ditto what Robert said IMHO. You get out what you put in.
