removing large amt of cellulose
I’m looking for options to remove about 330 sf of ~12″ layer of cellulose (less than 15 yrs old) from an attic space. In the past, I’ve just scooped out with a big dust pan into large trash bags, but this would be a lot of scooping.
Thanks

Insulation vacs.
Much like over grown show dust collectors.
Gas engine driven blower feeding a large plastic collection bag.
And a large suction hose that does up into the attic.
Some of the same companies that blow in insulation also have suckers.
Here is one brand.

Don't know if anybody rents them.

There is a God! Mmoogie, you reading this?
Yup. Where can we rent one? Where was it three weeks ago?
I think Standard Insullation in Utica has one.
For Rent?
Don't know.
I know they have portable ones to buy at the insulation machine co. that are not too expensive.
Most of the larger insulation companies have a truck mounted unit. They'll come out there and vaccuum it all up into their truck, and be gone in an hour. No mess.
I love it when I can avoid breathing insulation.
That would be my choice. Have someone else do it. I don't think they charge much either.
I'll never understand why GCs will have their guys do insulation. I absolutely hate it.
Thanks for the responses. I have a call into an installer, hopefully they can uninstall as well.
Someone here awhile back had some pictures of how they did it using a leaf blower that was reconfigurable into a lawn vac. Constructed a bin to receive the stuff using plastic sheeting. I forget what they used for hose.
I'm remembering that too. He'd made the exit for the giant plastic sheeting bag out of a furnace filter.
The hose filled the other end of the bag as he pulled it back toward the furnace filter end.
