Hi,
I am taking slate up off a wood subfloor. The slate was put down with mastic not mortar. The problem I am having is that when I start to pull up a piece of slate, the slate breaks leaving a thin layer of slate on the floor which is very hard to get up. If I heat the slate will that soften the mastic and help get the slate tile up in one piece?
Any other ideas for getting this slate up?
thanks, George

You can heat it or use paint remover, but whatever you do, don't add 100 blank lines at the end.
