I was installing counter tops in the bathroom and damaged the finished door jam when going thru the door.. Some dents are about 1/4 inch deep 45 degree widge type dent. The others are about 1/8 inch scrape 1″ wide. How do you suggest repairing after sanding off the paint? Should I drill holes to hold the putty? How big a drill bit? What type of filler?

Hello, Bondo
Yup- the old auto-body epoxy is your solution.
Lots of fresh air, of course, is a real plus as it cures.
Trowel it on.shape it, let it cure, sand it, paint it.

Most likely I would use some original Durabond that I keep around. I'd sand around the area and clean any dust out of the damaged recesses, apply the Durabond a fuzz high, let dry and sand out. Repeat if necessary (deep). Prime/paint.
