Looking into replacing master bathtub with shower. Foundation is hydronic radiant heat slab. My biggest concern is any leaking in shower floor due to any expansion or contraction caused by the heated floor slab. For durability, my thinking is a tile shower base over a tileable pan, tile shower base over concrete, or molded stone shower base. I don’t think acrylic is durable for long term. If no radiant tubes under bathtub, would adding electric in shower base cause additional problems? I’m hiring out the work.
