I need to replace a couple of deteriorating masonite panels in my garage door. There must be a weatherproof panel material with a smooth suface that comes in 1/4 in. thickness, but I have not found it so far. Anyone have any ideas?…..Birdman

Tempered Masonite, if you can find it.
Likely the stuff that went bad wasn't full tempered (oil-impregnated).
Or you can use exterior plywood.
I don;t suppose signboard (MDO) comes in 1/4"? That would be good, but around here I can only get it in 3/8" I think.
plexiglass..prime and paint it.

Acrylic sheets. They come in 4x8 sheets. Various colors.
Tempered masonite is what most use. Be sure to prime it before you install it.
