After over 100 years, the French windows in my house in Yonkers are starting to rot and are just about impossible to open and close. Rehabilitating the existing windows is out of the question. i want to replace them with windows that look the same to maintain the character of my house. Everyone I have consulted says that true divided light windows are no longer feasible and not easy to find. Every contractor is telling me that i need to replace my windows with single pane models with a permanent grill and spacers. Is this the way to go?
