Replacing sheathing behind brick facade from the inside.
I’m remediating some water damage and the bottom half of the sheathing (if you want to call foil and cardstock sheathing) has rotted away. I’m going to remove all of it, as I am see some rot on the top area where I suspected the damage was coming from.
There is a brick facade on the exterior that I do not want to mess with therefore i’m looking for techniques to replace the sheathing from the inside.
My current idea is to deepen the wall cavity with some additional dimensional lumber as it’s 2×4 framed at the moment; cut some OSB and seal the rear of each bay then throw in some left over rockwool 5.5” batt.
I have a concern about the exterior face of the framing being exposed now that the sheathing has deteriorated, any ideas on how to shore up the vapor barrier from the inside.

Replacing sheathing behind a brick facade from the inside is challenging and generally not recommended, as it involves removing interior walls and may not fully address exterior damage. It's best to access and replace the sheathing from the exterior by temporarily removing the brick.
