I notice that on the new topic screen there is a section that says Attach Images, If you are replying to a post that is no longer there, does that mean you can no longer attach images to a reply?

I'm unsure of your question.-by new topic do you mean ADD NEW POST?
And I'm thinking that it would be next to imposible to reply to a post that isn't there any more, but you of course could reply to another post and try to explain in your reply what the heck you are referring to..............
Best of luck.
Reply Problem
What I'm talking about is the screen I'm using now to reply to you has no way to add a image, if I start a new post the Add Image is at the bottom of the screen
Ummm... at least right now, as I'm replying to you there's an "attach files" dialog at the very bottom. Let me try...
Can't Attach Image
http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images/rinsequickheadonlyz.jpg
Your file and image works fine, the only thing I can attach is a link, I think that someone put me on a no image site!!
Can't see how that's possible... you tried attaching an image and it doesn't work? Freaky...
They have the site so frigged up, it displays differently for everyione.
For instance, all my posts go up with no spaces between paragraphs. I am using white space, but you will likely not see it.
Often, when I post, I get a pink message header telling me that the thread or post I am replying to no longer exists.
The left column - when I click on one of the Recent discussions" links, all that happens is I go back to the top of the page.
Log out and back in again and nothing happens differently.
This sandbox is full of mud, moss and old dead leaves.
Glory be!
first time in a month that it recognized my white space/paragraphing

I think I understand what you mean. It used to be we could copy an image from an online site and paste that image in a post.
Now, with the fine software you are required to "save" that image to.............
wherever on your computer you like-It was suggested and I save it to the Desktop. Then, to display it in the reply I hit the Attach Files to this Comment-below this message box.
This then enables me (it browses like b/4) to load that file off the Desktop (dbl clicking on it).
Then it is displayed as that goofy cheap ass 'd thumbnail.
Harder to explain than do. Same as posting an image out of your picture file-but first you have to save it somewhere on your computer-desktop, picture file, downloads...............wherever you might by some luck find it.
Image Problem
It looks like we are working like the government, fix things that are not broken!!
OK
I took your link and opened it in a New Window.
I right clicked on the image and then chose Save As
My option now was to save it somewhere on my computer-I chose desktop.
I then hit the AttachFiles on the bottom of this page BROWSE
Desktop to attach files.

It looks like your plan works, still a PITA to do it this way, thanks
you go boy!
Yessir, a pain in the rear and you cannot embed the picture.
Real good planning and upgrade.
Of course, we are not supposed to be saying that because 'it is what it is'..............
unlike the " it can be what you make it" that we heard from the original adjusters.
Pretty much a cryin shame.
They probably do it that way to prevent people from hotlinking to a site that's not their own, thereby stealing the bandwidth of the site without permission.
hotlinking: "Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc."
You mean, eg, so you can't link to an image in this thread like this http://forums.finehomebuilding.com/sites/forums.finehomebuilding.com/files/comment_upload/196901/rinsequickheadonlyz_0.jpg ?
You can post the link, of course. You just can't hotlink to the photo itself so that it appears in the message.
Just above this line, I tried using the "Source" button, then inputting the img src="http://forums.finehomebuilding.com/sites/forums.finehomebuilding.com/files/comment_upload/196901/rinsequickheadonlyz_0.jpg" link, but it doesn't appear in the message.
</p>
Right, but someone else somewhere else in another forum can. It's not preventing the use by other sites of images on this site.
[OK, reread your earlier post. Not sure that hot links from this site is a significant issue, though.]
Screw the source button.

Always!
But you've got no staying power. The damn paragraphing deal is now gone again!
See!
"But you've got no staying
"But you've got no staying power"
Hey hey heyyyyyyyyy... who've you been talking to? It was just that one time, and I'd been drinking and...
oh, you meant paragraphs...
Dunno, it's wierd. If I view the page in "source" (raw html) it doesn't show any paragraph markup so it must be getting dropped as it's stored and then displayed. Or you forgot to use the enter key?
;) ;) ;)
You guys think it's tough here? Look at this site: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/topics -- No personal browsing history, no categories, posts get lost all the time. No attachments of any kind.
And it's the developer's site that Google puts up for their Android phones. Talk about shoemaker's children!
One of the criticisms I hear frequently about Android is that they allow individual mfgs to diddle the software, etc to their own requirements so that execution varies depending on the exact model being targeted... sounds freaky to me but I hear it over and over.
Well, Android is open source, so they can't really prevent the mfgrs from doing their own thing. But all the different phone platforms are customized to one degree or another for the phone companies -- often blocking certain services (such as common app stores) so the phone "owner" will have to use the phone co's services.
I understand all that Dan, I'm just sort of surprised that Google allows it to go on to the extent that it can interfere with quite a few apps running on one model phone, but not others... doesn't happen with WP7, they have very stringent compatibility reqs. Anyway, I've hijacked this to death ;)
Like I said, it's open source -- nobody owns it, so nobody enforces what can and can't be done.
