…distributor?
We goofed. We took out or old fridge because my wife wanted one at work. At the same time, we figured it’d be good to have the fridge out so we could go ahead and redo the floor.
Alas, the 7-10 lead time on the new fridge being delivered has turned into 3 weeks. It’s a frigidaire and, apparently, they’re messing things up and not communicaating anything to their resellers.
After calling around town this afternoon looking for someone with it in stock, I’ve received answers ranging from ‘at least one month out on backorder’ to ‘1-3 months’ to ‘we don’t even think this model exists’.
Needless to say, the wife isn’t happy. Nor am I for that matter ;o)
Anyways, I’ve found a few online distributors that seem to have the product in stock. One is RainbowAppliances out of NJ. It’s be $150 for freight to MN, but that’s still cheaper than any alternative. Alas, they’re not open on weekends, so can’t find out for sure.
So…can anyone recommend either reputable online distributors or perhaps some very large mega-box appliance distributors in the midwest that I should check with that might have what we’re looking for in-stock?
I know this isn’t exactly construction related, but I was hoping engough of you deal with appliances that I might get some decent advice in here…

Home Depot and Lowes both carry Refers.
We are looking. Our fridge only lasted 12 years. What is up with that? 12 years? My parents fridge built in about 60 lasted at least until the 00's.
So my wife is looking. We have to get by on the "Tailgater" fridge in the garage. Gawd I hope she picks one soon. All that beer is getting warm. And there's a game tommorow.
to clarify, the reason I'm looking for a large regional or online distributor is that I've drained all my local options...including any big boxes (of which, only Best Buy sells Frigidaire).Unfortunately, we have an odd-size space to fill (rather narrow) and frigidaire happens to be the only brand that will fit. Alas, frigidaire also seems incapable of communicating with its distributors and resellers. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and find someone with it in stock a few states a way and is wililng to freight it.
Shirley, you jest!To think that a HD or lowes would carry a unit that nobody else seems to be able to find!

Frigidaire has the worst repair records of any appliances made across the board. We just bought a house with 18 month old top of the line Frigidaire appliances. The control board on the DW has had to be replaced and the ice maker on the frig is now screwed up. I wanted to sell these and bring our appliances from the old house but my wife thought the stainless Frigidaires looked better. My bad.
You may be right. Alas, Frigidaire is the only brand that offers narrow fridges that are still tall enough to get close to 20 cubic feet of space in them.Plus, they're cheap. So, it looks like we're just going to have to step down a model and forego the water. Then, hopefully sell soon so we can get a real kitchen with real appliances. ;o)One other option I discovered at Target last night...$6 for a roll of faux stainless steel shelf paper. I wish I would have found that earlier...I coudl have just slapped it on the old fridge. ;o)
