I’m planning an extensive restoration of my 1910 cottage in Boulder, CO. For lack of a better term, I’m searching for an architect who is “sensitive” to the charm of an older house and who can create restoration/remodel plans that retain as much existing house as is feasible. The house is in rough shape (foundation, leaning walls, etc.), but I definitely do not want to do a scrape off and build new.
I started with one architect but had to drop him since his approach was more about gutting (even demo-ing) everything possible and building brand new.
Any references would be greatly appreciated.

*Harvey, I live in Boulder, CO. I have worked with James McCutcheon on several projects and have found him to be very sensitive when dealing with character and/or mother nature in his designs. He is very busy now, but he takes commissions often based on interest, not just availability. His phone number is 303.449.9289, my phone # is 303.601.2616 if you want a builder that cares as much as you do... Good luck, isaac
*Sorry about the name mixup Gary... I
*I cannot reccomend an architect, but was wondering if you needed a contractor or carpenters. Call me 303494 8467. Jeff DeMeyer, DeMeyer Construction Services, Inc. Boulder, CO.
