Restoring tile grout to original colour?
Working on rebuilding an upscale coffee shop that suffered extreme water damage during the extinguishing of a fire. Premises have sat for some 20 months while an incompetent project manager guides the restoration of the building housing the premises. We’ve finally been let back in and are in process of rebuilding the interior of the shop.
Original ceramic tile floor still survives, but the black grout is no longer anywhere near that colour. Some new tile work is required and grout matching is an issue. Anyone know a good trick for restoring the old grout to original colour?

Some of the specialty cleaning companies has special equipment and processes for cleaning grout.
I have seen that listed on the Stanely Steamer trucks.
And there is a commercial cleaning company that I have seen similar on their trucks.
A google on - grout cleaning fire restoration - appears will find some people that does that. Try adding you location to the search.

I've heard about the STEAM thing but have never seen it done been told it works and would probably be the fastest and most economical route to take.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'd been hoping for some magic cleaning solution that would wash away the problem but it looks like there is no avoiding the reality.
