Restrictions for blown-in attic insulation
Hi, in Oregon there is a section in their Energy Code not permitting blown-in insulation in attics are have a <4:12 pitched roof & <44″ space at the ridge. I am wanting to understand the reasoning. Anybody out there who can help with this subject, pleae do so. Thanks much

Probably simply that it's impractical to blow a low-pitch roof -- too hard to get back into the corners and guarantee even coverage. (And, of course, lobbying on the part of other insulation purveyors may have had something to do with it too.)
