The internet is loaded with companies and wannabe inventors with screen solutions for “Freedom” double doors. Has anyone come across a good version for the active door only?. I came across a Bug Off walk through and a Phantom retractable version at Lowes. The Bug Off version is quick and simple to put up but may not seal near the edges well enough to keep out persistent critters. Has anyine installed either the Bug Off, or Phantom type screens; and how well did it work?

I bought and installed a phantom-type screen for a set of french-doors for my house. It was an off-the-shelf model I picked up a Lowes for about $100 each (bought two for the French doors). They work ok, but the retracting spring doesn't retact the screen automatically very well. I think I got what I paid for, but they do work.
The only word of caution I would give if you're installing them yourself is that they really must be attached square and level or they don't retract right.
Hope that helps,
Andy
