I have a friend who would like to replace her aluminum windows with vinyl. She just bought this house in Ukiah California and would also like to put exterior (presumably wood?) trim around her new windows. The current aluminum ones are trimless. Would this be an opportunity to get a nailfinned window at the same time she put in the window or is it not worth the headache? In other words, instead of applying the trim over the stucco she could cut back the stucco with an abrasive blade and install the windwo with the nail fin against the plywood surface (flashing accordingly). help!
