I’ve followed the directions to register my drill with no success. I set up an account and a code is sent to confirm but the code is never received. I’ve removed all spam filters, used a different email and the code never arrives. The other option is to send a registered letter. I’m no computer ninny, I’m very adept at working around quacky run-arounds, but this one is impossible. There is no paperwork or address for the mail in option. Is this why so few Ridgid tools get registered? I might not need the warranty as it is an excellent tool, but still…

Yes, you will need the warranty. My philosophy has been that I might or might not outlive the tools but I do intend to outlive the batteries. I registered my first tools in 2008; I don't know if it is by design, bad implementation, or what but their system is a hurdle to getting your tools registered. And if you don't get them registered you are hung out to dry. You didn't mention if you've tried different browsers but in any case I would call them as my experiences suggest it is their issue. The website says 866-539-1710. Don't stop chasing this until you are able to log in and see your tools listed as registered even if they register them over the phone for you. ALSO, when you do need to get your batteries replaced, note that YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS TO REGISTER THE ONES THEY GIVE YOU as replacements. I looked earlier today and saw that replacement batteries you buy from HD today come with a 3-year warranty. I.e., this is your only chance to get a lifetime warranty on those batteries. Good luck. (I didn't see that a mailed-in registration needs to be via registered mail. And the details for a mailed in registration are here: https://register.ridgidpower.com/faqs)
Thanks, I'll do the mail process. I have used 3 different browsers. I left a 1 star review on their product page detailing the registration hurdle and you would think they would respond like most do. Nope.
This is their info on registration.
Certified mail? Who does that?
rigid makes the best dremel i ever seen
Dremel is not a tool, it is a manufacturer of a variety of tools, Ridgid does not own Dremel. You might mean that Ridgid makes a good rotary tool, which Dremel is well known for and I think invented.
I'm guessing your intent is to suggest that Ridgid makes such good tools that there is no need for getting the warranty. The 18V drill I got has handled very good and having decades of experience with cordless drills I can tell this one is one of the very best.
you got the idea and are very expressive about it! thanks for participating so its not just the one guys experience! except the warranty. either its worth investing in or not. Time is time either way. I'm just saying its not harbor freight where its 3 tools you can destroy for the hell of it at the price of one rigid. Why wouldnt you get the warranty?
Harbor Freight tools are throw-away tools, one time use. Which do have their place in some instances, I do have their small metal brake as it is the only cheap one on the market and it works. But it looks like some guy and his kid pounded it out on a backyard forge. The CEO has made a statement that they are attempting to upgrade their quality and I will definitely endorse their (the blue ones) F-style clamps; they are better quality than Jorgensen's and considerably cheaper.
some things they could improve over a single use, but mostly I like them for good price good product. Lowes stuff is either miles of red tape or changed brands by the time I need parts or warranty.
Register by logging on to account or, if you do not have one, create an account. Then click 'Register New Product'

robertcrook; I've done that and they send a verification code to my email, submit, and then the whole process starts over. But I followed your link and the site is under construction today so maybe they are fixing it. I did finally get it registered via USPS.
The Ridgid registration site is now operable, the problem has been fixed and I am now able to access it and my account there.
