Rigid 3/4″ hammer drill augur bits loosen
I am trying to use this to drill holes to plant bulbs. The bit loosens almost immediately. Is there a way around this or is something wrong with the collett. I’ve dug holes before using a 20v DeWalt drill so the power should be audequate. In fact thats why I bought it, figuring it would be faster than the 20v.

And by some slim chance, the drill motor is not in reverse?
And an auger bit which feeds itself into the material Isn’t compromised by the hammer feature? I’ve never used an auger bit in anything other than wood and mostly in a hole hawg.
my quick thought is you really don't need a hammer drill to dig dirt (unless it's mostly clay) - how does it use a "wrench" to tighten the bit or is it a hand tightening mechanism?
also I believe most 3/4 drills run at a slower spreed than 1/2 inch to provide more torque
good
other question - corded drill or battery powered?
