I am considering applying 1/2″ rigid foam on the exterior of a house I will be building for myself . Any thougts concerning moisture (from the interior) build up under the foam, and is a housewrap still benificial or necessary? (on top of the foam) My wall will be 2×4 with R-13 fiberglass insulation, sheathed with 7/16″ O.S.B. and possibly vinyl sided.

bob..don't waste your time with 1/2".... all of the problems and not enough of the bennies...
we do our energy walls with 1" eps on the interior & furr the walls horizontally @ 16" OC...
1/2" to me is not worth the effort.. since a lot of the cost is labor...and the increase in R-value for 1/2" is minimal, the reduction in thermal bridging is minimal..
and , of course, energy walls are only to be considered as part of an overall strategy.. of which attic / ceiling insulation and window upgrades are way ahead on the priority list
but hey, whadda i no ?

Yo Mike!
why don't you just use the Dow wallmate product?
I believe it comes in 1.5 & 2" versions.
the slot for the strapping is rabbeted out so it lays flat...
just a thought!
