Has anybody tried the Rigid version of the DEWALT wet saw? I had the opportunity to do a job using someones dewalt and I really liked it and I am curious if the rigid version is any good.

I have the Riged, on its 3rd bathroom job now. Very pleased so far, much better than either of th MKs I had before. I have never used a Dewalt though.
Just got the Rigid after my cheapo Work Force died. I gotta say I bought the Work Force because it was the same cost as a two day rental. I didn't intend to but, I ended up doing about 25 tile jobs with that saw before the bearing finally failed.
Now that I have the Rigid I can't imagine going back. Great saw, good cut capacity, nice work stand, solid construction, and nice movement. Comes with a good blade and I like the way you can remove the tray for clean up. The height adjustment ont the blade and the slide are real nice as well.
Only draw back is the weight. The stand/cart help make it easier to move around on hard surface. Getting it up and down steps, into and out of the truck or carrying it over lawn is brutal alone. But I guess the weight is what makes it solid.
I think I might replace the right angle grinder on the Work Force for small repair jobs as it is light weight and easy to load.
i have the dewalt. ridgid has wheels my dewalt does not. dewalt is about 300 more. i give a slight edge to the dewalt as a better built tool.
Just bought the Rigid saw this morning.....and returned it this afternoon. What a disappointment! Rigid took a nicely designed saw and put a crappy water sprayer on it. The water outlets spray at such a shallow angle to the blade, the water just bounces off (the blade never really gets wet) and collects in large drops on the front of the guard which are then blown out the front of the machine by the motor cooling fan which exhausts out the bottom. The half dry blade then drifted 1/8" out of line by the time it was an inch into the cut. I have had the chance to use someone elses DeWalt saw but didn't want to spend the grand to get my own,but I guess I will now.
I have the Dewalt.
I bought it from Tool King reconditioned for a bit over $700.00.
If I were on the design team, there are a couple of things I would change, but overall it is a great tool.
My old saw is a 35 year old Felker.

For you Dewalt owners - I just purchased one used and got it all cleaned up and put back together...I'm noticing that there's some blade wobble in mine. Even with a brand new blade. Arbor seems tight and doesn't seem to have runout, though it's hard to check as it's both threaded and notched, so there's no smooth part of the shaft to test it on.After it gets up to speed, it stabilizes somewhat, but it's still a bit annoying, as I didn't have such issues with my MK660 that I replaced with this Dewalt.I'd heard some folks mention on the Bridge forum about some wobble with the Dewalt - just wanted to check with you guys to see if you've noticed more wobble than you'd care to see in your saw. Thanks,Julian
Julian,
I've been wondering about that saw you bought.........I haven't noticed anything like what you describe with my saw.
Technically, there is no arbor on this tool as it is direct drive? Yes?
I searched the JB archive pretty well and that influenced me to pull the trigger on this saw.
Today I tiled a wall to a sloped ceiling that received tile as well, so the miter feature was a gift for that part of the job.
Our painter handed me a bunch od wood plank looking tiles that were 24" long that he need ripped. Not a problem at all on the Dewalt.
Overall I am liking it a lot.
I hope you get you issue reolved, and check in here when you do please.

Well, for $400 with the stand, I'm sure if I have to get it fixed, it'll still be a relatively good deal.JT
